Beachbody

This week I began a Beachbody program called Turbo Fire.  This is the same group that is famous for P90X.  I've been getting up way early for me (like 5:30am) and working out.  I've been eating healthier too.  So far I have lost 6 pounds!  Beginning Monday I am joining a group of gals in the Brazilian Butt Lift Challenge (I call it BBL because I'm a prude:).  For 30 days I'm going to be alternating between BBL and Turbo Fire.  This is quite a work out and I am far from mastering it, but I plan to keep at it.  I've found that it is something I have to do first thing or I won't do it.  Friday I didn't get up in the morning and it was really hard to force myself to do it in the afternoon.  I did end up doing it, but it was a lesson to me that first thing in the morning is the way to go.

Exercise Log

I didn't want to.  I almost didn't.  If I had managed to get my shoes off once I arrived home it would have been all over.  Despite being tired and   not feeling like it, I exercised by walking on the treadmill for 30 minutes.        Woohoo!  here's to small steps that will have a lasting influence:)

Update

So last week I didn't exercise or watch what I ate, but this week I am back at it and so far so good.  I walked on the treadmill Monday and Tuesday and I'm eating more fruits and veges.  I am so grateful to my friend Rachel for her inspiration.

This is a blog post she wrote that is an inspiration to me:  http://www.citrusflat.com/2012/08/08/5-easy-ways-to-take-the-first-step-to-fitness/

She also wrote this and I'm inspired again:

"You don't have to believe what the media tells you: to accept your body how it is. Not true! I used to think my tummy pooch was because all the women in my family have one, too. Guess what?!? No more pooch over here!!!"

I feel like I'm at the beginning of a journey and being fit like Rachel is where I want to end up!

I will conquer myself:)

Exercise

Today I walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes.  I alternated my speed throughout to get a better workout.  Hooray for today:)

I did it!!!

One of my biggest obstacles for losing weight is the grocery store.  There is so much tempting food in there and it is very hard for me to resist.  Today as I prepared to enter the big store of temptation I was determined not to buy food that wasn't on the list and that would not help me to dress like a princess.  There were a couple of close calls, but luckily I had some sugar free mint chocolate chip gum in my purse.  I started chewing on that as I went passed the candy aisle and then again when I went down the baking aisle.  That gum saved my life:)  I know it may seem small, but this is a huge win for me!  I feel like I can do anythingÜ  I even came home and had a healthy lunch.

As I write about my win over my self indulgence I am reminded of the scripture that says "by small and simple things shall great things come to pass" (Alma 37:6).  By achieving these small goals, I will reach my greatest goal of losing weight and dressing like a princess!

Using my knowledge to achieve my goal of dressing like a princess*Ü*

This is what I'm working for.  I want to be able to wear a cute dress like this and look pretty:)  I will be able to dress like a princess someday!

When I was a child my favorite primary song was I Am A Child of God.  A few years after I learned it, they changed the chorus.  The original chorus said, "teach me all that I must know to live with Him someday."  The line was changed to "teach me all that I must do to live with Him someday."  As a child it bugged me that they changed my favorite song, but now as an adult I understand.  Knowledge is important, but it does no good if you don't follow through and do what you know.  I know a lot about living and eating healthy, but I don't do a whole lot to do what I know.  I am determined to follow this motto:  Just do it!

I have built up some bad habits.  It is a daily battle to overcome my urge to eat what I shouldn't and to sit instead of exercise, but I am taking it a day at a time and determined that I will dress like a princess:)

Do things you have never before done!

This was on the mormon.org Facebook page and it inspired me:

To create change in our lives often requires we take an unfamiliar path, which is often uphill and          narrow. How do you to look to the Lord for hope and comfort during these times?

"To reach a goal you have never before attained, you must do things you have never before done."—Elder Richard G. Scott

For me, losing weight and eating healthy is quite a challenge.  In order to reach my goals I am going to have to do things that I have never done- exercise daily, eat more fruits and veges and spend less time eating sugar/chocolate:)

Here's to do doing things I have never done and succeeding in my goals!

Here I go!

So this blog is going to be dedicated to all things exercise, food, and healthy living.  This is where I will write about my journey towards a happier, healthier me.

My goal is to lose weight and be able to fit into a princess costume for Halloween someday:).

Thus, I have named this blog "Code Word:  Princess".  Whenever I am tempted to eat something I shouldn't or give in to sitting on the couch instead of exercising, I say to myself "Princess" and it motivates me to make the right choice!

Wish me luck!  Here I go!
